Here comes a new year, and together with it, new prices for the various and different goods & services. This is how it works at the beginning of each year in Portugal, and everywhere else, I guess :-)
Carris, the company running public bus services in the city, is announcing a raise of 70% in the price of tramline tickets (line 28 and elevators included ...), from 1,45 € to 2,50 €, which is a bit too much. The company says that this is to avoid tickets being purchased onboard, delaying the tram and jamming traffic, but it does sound more like a terrific revenue increase :-)
So, please, once in Lisboa, do get your rechargeable transportation cards (ask me when and where to get them!), as these prices will not change :-)
